On September 20th, 2016, on The Wendy’s Show,Teyana and Iman Shumpert revealed that “maybe” they were secretyly married but the wedding wasn’t till October 1st, 2016.
The singer filed for divorce in January 2023 but she didn’t announce the couple’s separation till Septemebr 2023. TMZ discovered that the singer had filed for divorce from Shumpert in January 2023, roughly 9 months before the couple announced their separation. The agreement between the couple was settled in June 2024, with Taylor being rewarded significant assets and luxurious properties and automobiles. Shumpert agreed to provide substantial child support for their two daughters.

Teyana was born in 1990, Decemebr 10 in Harlem, New York City. She’s a daughter to Nikki Smith and Tito Smith.
In the year 2005, Teyana signed a record deal with Pharell William’s Star Trak Entertainment imprint, after which she made her first national appearance on MTV’s My Super Sweet 16. In 2012, she asked for her release from Star Trak and signed to Ye’s Good Music Label through Def Jam. The songwriter has worked with and written records for artists like Omarion, Chris brown and Usher. She also has appeared on various runways and has landed high-profile features , such as on Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. She stars in the VH1 reality TV show Teyana and Iman (2018), alongside her ex- husband Iman Shumpert.
